On this excursion to the archaeological site of Uxmal from Mérida or from Progreso, you will become an expert in the Mayan civilization. We will visit buildings such as the Pyramid of the Magician or Codz Poop. Then we will move to the Pebá cenote where you will enjoy a relaxing afternoon.

Itinerary

After picking you up from your hotel in Mérida or Progreso at the indicated time, we will start this excursion to Uxmal, one of the most important vestiges of the Mayan civilization.

We will take a guided tour of Uxmal admiring the Pyramid of the Magician. As we observe the imposing structure that dominates the city, we will listen to the legend that narrates its construction. Who was the mysterious dwarf seer who gives it its name? We will find out!

The tour will continue through other remarkable buildings of Uxmal, such as the Governor’s Palace, the House of the Doves, the Old House, the cemetery, and the Temple of the Phalluses. Thanks to the excellent state of conservation of the city, during the tour you can imagine what Uxmal was like in its heyday.

After the guided tour of Uxmal, we will visit the Chocolate Museum (ChocoStory) where you will learn how artisanal chocolate is produced and we will discover how the Mayans created chocolate for the world and if it existed before the Mayans!

Then we will go to a cenote where you can swim in its blue and crystal clear waters!

Then we will take you back to your hotel!
